Plants for Your Apartment

Everyone wants their apartment to be an inviting space that feels like home. One way to do this is by adding plants inside your apartment. Plants can bring both color and life into your apartment with little effort required on your part. Read on for a few suggestions of plants that do well in apartments.

ZZ Plant – Zamioculcas Zamiifolia

Native to the island of Zanzibar, located off the coast of East Africa, ZZ Plants are very easy to care for. ZZ Plants require very little sunlight and only need to be watered about three times a month. They also rarely attract any sort of pest, like bugs or rodents. They have been called the “Houseplant of the Future” by some.

Spider Plant

“These tough plants tolerate lots of abuse, making them excellent candidates for newbie gardeners or those without a green thumb. Provide them with well-drained soil and bright, indirect light and they will flourish. Water them well but do not allow the plants to become too soggy, which can lead to root rot.” Learn more at the link above.

English Ivy

You know a plant is good at purifying the air when NASA recommends it. English Ivy grows pretty easily, looks elegant, keeps your air fresh, and doesn’t take too much care to thrive. This is the perfect plant to keep in your living room or in a well-lit kitchen.

Snake Plant – Sansevieria Trifasciata

Able to withstand weeks of neglect, snake plants are one of the most tolerant plants you will find. Even under conditions of neglect, they won’t lose their shape or color. They thrive in environments with very little light and water. If you are new to having plants or worried about forgetting to care for your plants, give one of these a try first. Snake plants also naturally remove toxins from the air.
